Joya de Nicaragua cigars were first established in 1968 and are one of the first premium cigar brands manufactured in Nicaragua. These cigars are handmade in the city of Esteli with a Connecticut Shade wrapper and Nicaraguan grown binder and filler tobaccos. Find mellow-medium to extra full strength cigars in boxes, sampler packs, individuals, and other quantities. They have a classic, woody, and delicate taste with each smoke. On February 29, 1968, J.F. Bermejo and Simón Camacho established Nicaragua’s first cigar manufacturer, the Nicaragua Cigar Co., located in the heart of Estelí, Nicaragua. They began producing Joya de Nicaragua cigars, and became the first national cigar brand to be marketed worldwide. Over the course of the next couple of years, the Joya de Nicaragua cigar made its debut in Europe and the U.S., bolstering the popularity of Nicaraguan cigars in international markets. Eventually, Joya de Nicaragua became so popular that they were named as the official cigar brand of the White House under the Nixon administration.
